Physiotherapy at Norwest with Suhaanan Subathasan
Why did you study Physiotherapy?
Growing up, I've always had a passion for both sports and health, so becoming a physiotherapist was the best of both worlds! I loved the idea of being able to work with elite athletes, to be a part of their journey and working in sports environments. I also had a strong interest in analysing body movements and facilitating maximum performance through guidance and rehabilitation.
What conditions can Physiotherapy help with and what do you have a special interest in?
I work with all ranges of musculoskeletal conditions however, I have a special interest in post-operative care as it enables me to work with the client from day one, and throughout their journey back to function and even post recovery. It is highly rewarding working with patients through all the challenges of injury and seeing them achieving their recovery goals.
What do you love most about Physiotherapy clients at 4D?
The great thing about the type of clientele we get here at 4D Norwest is the variety of patients we see. From our Olympians and highly skilled athletes, to our post-surgery patients, to patients overcoming pain while performing simple daily activities. We meet all patients from different walks of life and in turn strengthens our treatment approaches as a team. We ensure our clients understand our philosophy of injury back to performance and therefore appreciate the importance of movement and rehabilitation in their recovery.
Can you think of a time recently that made you feel proud to be working with 4D?
Being a part of the team for five years now, a big achievement was recently becoming the Director of the 4D Norwest branch. It was a personal goal of mine and I am grateful I get to do what I do at 4D Health and Performance alongside talented colleagues. I truly believe the type of clientele we have here trusts us immensely knowing their treatment is tailored specifically to them and it makes me proud to be a part of this team! We all bounce of each other and have teaching seminars and case presentations to continue improving our knowledge
