Physiotherapy in the CBD with Jason Chan
Why did you study Physiotherapy?
I have dreamed of becoming a physiotherapist ever since I fractured my arm in my teenage years. The pain of being unable to play the sports I loved was far greater than the physical pain from the injury itself. I experienced firsthand how effective rehabilitation can transform one’s life, and I am thankful for this injury because it guided me toward the path of becoming a physiotherapist. Witnessing my patients’ recovery stories continues to be my greatest motivation in this profession.
What conditions can Physiotherapy help with and what do you have a special interest in?
I am passionate about using manual therapy and exercise-based approaches to treat a broad range of conditions. My area of expertise includes musculoskeletal and sports injuries, pre-and post-operative rehabilitation, chronic pain management, managing headaches and migraines, and men’s health issues. Honestly, I have a keen interest in all areas of physiotherapy.
What do you love most about Physiotherapy clients at 4D?
I see patients from all sorts of backgrounds, ages, and levels, from everyday individuals to elite athletes. Treating such a diverse range of conditions keeps my mind engaged and makes each day more interesting.
Can you think of a time recently that made you feel proud to be working with 4D?
Witnessing my patients’ recovery is always incredibly rewarding. Every day, I see individuals overcome challenges and regain their functions. Making positive impacts on people’s lives is always a reminder of why I chose this profession and why I’m proud to be part of the team. It’s a privilege to be surrounded by a dedicated team, who share the same passion for patient care.
What is something unique or interesting about you?
If I weren’t a physiotherapist, I would probably be a competitive eater.
